Housing Development

For nearly three decades, BBFBCDC has been developing homes right here in Boynton Beach for families who deserve a real shot at homeownership.

Single Family New Construction

CHERRY HILLS

2025 | In partnership with the City of Boynton Beach and the Boynton Beach CRA

In 2025, we completed two brand new single-family homes in the Cherry Hills neighborhood in Boynton Beach. Each home has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and approximately 1,500 square feet of living space. These homes are priced for families earning up to 120% of the area median income, making real homeownership possible for working families.

POINCIANA GARDENS MODEL BLOCK

2009 - 2012 | Heart of Boynton and Poinciana Gardens Neighborhoods

From 2009 to 2022, we partnered with Habitat for Humanity and the City of Boynton Beach to transform the Poinciana Gardens and Heart of Boynton neighborhoods. The result was 16 affordable homes built and sold to families who needed them. This project is a testament to what is possible when a community comes together.

Acquisition and Rehabilitation

With soaring new construction costs and a limited supply of vacant land, the organization plans to launch an acquisition and rehabilitation program. We will acquire existing homes, rehabilitate them, and resell them to first time homebuyers.

Owner-Occupied Rehabilitation

From 2023 to 2025, BBFBCDC administered the City of Boynton Beach’s Owner Occupied Rehabilitation Program. The City utilized Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds to operate the program. Across the three fiscal years, BBFBCDC received 200+ inquiries about the Rehabilitation Program and assisted 50 households, with 30 homeowners receiving direct funding for home repairs.

Typical scopes of work included roof replacement or repair, major system upgrades, and bathroom or kitchen renovations when funding allowed. The program concluded in December 2025 following the discontinuation of City funding.

The program has transitioned into post-ownership education and educational workshops around property maintenance and neighborhood preservation.
